Aggregating demand is a proven business process that delivers true hard dollar savings on products and services. Traditionally, to obtain the savings resulting from volume spend, aggregated procurements increased inventory over populating a warehouse or central stores. IWT's Demand Aggregation delivers a "just in time" solution. The module automates the demand data gathering process in preparation for a strategic sourcing bid event. Once a supplier is awarded the Demand Aggregation module will facilitate the individual order creation process appropriately allocating spend commitments into individual purchase lists.
Most procurement contracts offer suppliers little in the way of guarantees. In many cases suppliers are simply promised the business if and when a product or service is needed. A more professional procurement organization will investigate and provide bidders with historical spend data serving as a benchmark. Unfortunately, these types of contracts simply provide a convenience yet deliver little value.
IWT's Demand Aggregation module provides polling functionality to aggregate demand from a population of members and/or agency users on-demand. Demand Poll Requests containing items and/or services are published to the user (buying) community, giving the users a deadline for responding. Poll Responders interact with the application by entering desired (or committed) quantities for the listed items. Poll Responders can enter and submit quantities over multiple logins saving progress during each session. As each responder completes and submits their Poll Response, the system provides aggregate totals of user responses and allows extraction of the data for use in IWT’s eSourcing application or traditional bid processes. Your suppliers will see the entire aggregated demand and respond accordingly. Essentially, procurement professionals can quickly and easily forecast demand and provide suppliers with committed spending volumes.
Best value and best pricing is and has always been available to the buyer seeking and committing to a larger volume. The ability to quantify and guarantee spend to a supplier consistently delivers 5% - 15% in hard dollar savings over a "contracted" price.
